When water evaporates, it pulls heat away with it, the same principle that cools humans when we sweat. Dogs cannot sweat through their skin, so the vest helps create that cooling effect externally. Soak the vest for 2 minutes, put it on, and the outer mesh begins releasing moisture into the air while drawing heat away from your dog's body for up to 4 hours.
The vest has a built-in metal D-ring on the back, so you can clip your lead to the vest instead of your dog's collar. This spreads pulling force across the chest and shoulders instead of concentrating it on the neck. It is especially useful for smaller breeds, flat-faced breeds, and dogs that pull hard on walks.
No. The water retention happens in the middle core layer, while moisture moves outward through the shell. After soaking, wring out excess water before putting it on. The vest should feel damp and cool, not dripping or heavy.
The sizing guide is also shown in the product image gallery. To choose the best fit, start with your dog's chest girth, then check neck and back length. If your dog is between sizes, choose the larger size unless the chest would still sit loose after adjustment.
